Senior Planning Engineer

Aroma International Building Contracting L.L.C is currently hiring an experienced and highly capable Senior Planning Engineer to support its expanding portfolio of large-scale civil and infrastructure projects. With projects spanning residential, commercial, industrial, hospitality, and specialized facilities, the role demands a strategic planner with strong technical depth and proven UAE experience.

Position Overview

The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing project schedules while implementing best planning practices across construction sites. The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge of Primavera P6, UAE construction methodologies, and advanced delay analysis techniques. The role requires coordination with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and the client to ensure smooth project execution. This position plays a key role in enhancing project performance, optimizing schedules, and ensuring on-time delivery aligned with client and contractual expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain resource-loaded schedules using Primavera P6 for all project phases.
• Establish baseline schedules, manpower histograms, resource allocation plans, and progress measurement systems.
• Create work breakdown structures (WBS) and ensure accurate sequencing of activities.
• Track daily, weekly, and monthly project progress and highlight deviations against the baseline.
• Identify critical and near-critical activities and prepare mitigation and recovery measures.
• Generate high-quality reports including S-curves, dashboards, delay logs, and KPI summaries for senior management and clients.
• Conduct site visits to verify actual progress and compare it with planned schedules.
• Conduct Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and prepare detailed delay evaluation reports.
• Support contract and claims teams with documentation, delay narratives, and extension of time (EOT) claims.
• Review site constraints, variations, change orders, and integrate them into updated schedules.
• Ensure full alignment with project specifications, contractual terms, and FIDIC standards.
• Coordinate planning activities with internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
• Support cost control initiatives by coordinating schedule-related financial impacts.
• Participate in tender-stage planning when required.
• Provide recommendations for schedule optimization and resource efficiency.
• Enhance planning processes and implement best practices within the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 7–10 years of mandatory UAE experience as a Planning Engineer.
• Proven expertise in Primavera P6, MS Excel, and standard planning tools.
• Experience working on medium to large construction or infrastructure projects.

Preferred Skills

• Strong knowledge of advanced delay analysis and claim preparation.
• Familiarity with contractual frameworks including FIDIC.
• Professional credentials such as PMP or PSP are highly advantageous.
