Senior Planning Engineer – MEP

A reputed contractor, RAQ Contracting, is currently hiring a Senior Planning Engineer (MEP) for projects in:

• Experience Required: 8+ years (with MEP specialization)

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Planning, scheduling, and monitoring MEP construction activities
• Ensuring projects are delivered:
  • On time
  • Within budget
  • In compliance with quality and safety standards

🛠️ Detailed Roles & Responsibilities

📊 1. Project Planning & Scheduling

• Develop baseline schedules using Primavera P6
• Define project timelines, milestones, and critical paths
• Align MEP schedules with civil and architectural activities

📈 2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress
• Prepare:
  • Progress reports
  • S-curves
  • Dashboard updates
• Identify delays and recommend corrective actions

⚠️ 3. Delay Analysis & Recovery Planning

• Perform delay analysis (EOT claims, critical path analysis)
• Develop recovery schedules to bring projects back on track
• Coordinate with site teams for implementation

🔄 4. MEP Coordination

• Coordinate between:
  • Mechanical systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Plumbing systems
• Ensure proper sequencing of activities to avoid clashes

💼 5. Resource & Cost Planning

• Forecast manpower, materials, and equipment
• Support cost control and budgeting
• Optimize resource allocation

📋 6. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure compliance with:
  • Project specifications
  • Safety regulations
  • Local authority requirements

✅ Detailed Key Requirements

🏗️ Experience

• Minimum 8+ years in planning and scheduling
• At least 5 years in MEP-specific projects
• Experience in:
  • High-rise buildings
  • Infrastructure projects
• Mandatory Abu Dhabi project experience

📊 Technical Skills (Critical for Selection)

• Expert in:
  • Primavera P6 (mandatory)
  • MS Project
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Critical Path Method (CPM)
  • Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Ability to prepare:
  • S-curves
  • Histograms
  • Lookahead schedules

⚙️ MEP Technical Knowledge

• Deep understanding of:
  • HVAC systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Plumbing & drainage systems
• Experience in MEP coordination and sequencing

🎓 Education

• Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Or related discipline
