Procurement Officer – Construction

A growing contractor, Datum General Contracting, is hiring a Procurement Officer to support ongoing building and villa projects.

🧾 Key Responsibilities of a Procurement Officer

In UAE construction projects, procurement plays a direct role in cost control and timely execution. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end procurement of construction materials and services
  • Sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Preparing and issuing LPOs (Local Purchase Orders)
  • Ensuring timely delivery of materials as per project schedules
  • Comparing quotations and preparing cost analysis reports
  • Coordinating with:
    • Site engineers
    • Store/warehouse teams
    • Accounts department
  • Tracking orders and resolving supply chain issues
  • Maintaining proper documentation and procurement records

✅ Key Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

🎓 Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field

🏗️ Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of UAE experience in construction procurement
  • Strong exposure to building and villa projects
  • Good understanding of the local supplier market in UAE

📊 Technical Knowledge

  • Familiarity with:
    • BOQ (Bill of Quantities)
    • LPO process
    • Material submittals and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and pricing trends

💼 Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (cost comparison, tracking, reporting)
  • Good coordination skills across multiple departments
