Senior MEP Procurement Engineer

ARCO Electromechanical L.L.C is seeking an experienced Senior MEP Procurement Engineer to support ongoing and upcoming projects across the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full procurement cycle for MEP materials and subcontract services while ensuring cost efficiency, quality compliance, and timely delivery in line with project requirements.

Job Purpose

The Senior MEP Procurement Engineer will oversee procurement planning, vendor sourcing, bid evaluation, negotiations, and material delivery coordination for MEP projects. The role requires close coordination with engineering, project, and site teams to ensure materials and services meet technical specifications, budgets, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, BOQs, and schedules to identify MEP material and subcontract requirements.
• Develop procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
• Prepare procurement schedules and material tracking logs.
• Source, prequalify, and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors for MEP materials and services.
• Maintain and update approved vendor and supplier lists.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to multiple vendors.
• Conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations in coordination with engineering and project teams.
• Ensure materials comply with approved technical specifications, drawings, and relevant standards.
• Compare quotations to ensure best-value procurement decisions.
• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contractual conditions.
• Control material costs and monitor variances against approved budgets.
• Support value engineering initiatives where applicable.
• Coordinate with MEP engineers, consultants, and project teams for material submittals and approvals.
• Prepare purchase orders (POs), procurement logs, and related documentation.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ISO procedures, and contractual requirements.
• Monitor supplier production and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, and site teams to ensure timely material delivery.
• Identify and report procurement risks or delays that may impact project timelines.
• Prepare regular procurement status reports for management.
• Evaluate supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and service.
• Maintain accurate procurement records for audits and project close-out.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical preferred).
• Additional training or certification in procurement or supply chain management is an advantage.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of UAE experience in a similar role within an MEP contracting company.
• Proven experience handling procurement for MEP systems such as HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical, and ELV.
• Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of MEP materials, systems, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to prepare and analyze RFQs, bid comparisons, and procurement reports.
• Familiarity with ERP or procurement management systems is an advantage.
