Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Senior Document Controller to support major engineering and construction projects in Abu Dhabi. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and deep knowledge of engineering documentation processes. You will manage and control all project-related documents, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, compliance, and timely distribution across all teams.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the flow of documents between project operations, engineering teams, construction departments, and other relevant groups.
- Process project documents in line with approved procedures, workflows, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure document control standards such as numbering systems, approvals, and formatting are properly implemented.
- Receive, register, track, and monitor all project documents through an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), including Aconex or similar platforms.
- Maintain updated logs, transmittals, metadata, and reporting tools for all documentation.
- Generate periodic document reports, status summaries, and distribution lists as required by the project team.
- Scan, archive, and maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy document repositories.
- Ensure strict version control and proper retrieval of documents at all stages of the project.
- Maintain document distribution schedules to meet client, project, department, and supplier requirements.
- Expedite reviews, approvals, and release of documentation from consultants, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Provide guidance and support to junior document controllers to ensure adherence to project-specific procedures.
- Assist project staff with document-related queries, formatting, templates, and compliance issues.
- Perform basic administrative tasks including filing, answering calls, data entry, or messenger activities when needed.
- Support general office automation tasks using standard software applications.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Information Management, or any related discipline.
- Specialized training or certifications in Document Control, EDMS, or Quality Systems is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 12 years of document control experience in an engineering design, construction, or consulting environment.
- Strong experience using Aconex or other Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
- Proven background supporting large-scale, multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows-based applications.
- Expertise in document control systems, workflows, and project documentation protocols.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, submittals, transmittals, RFIs, and correspondence formats.
Organizational Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling high volumes of documents.
- Excellent time management with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and follow controlled processes.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
