Safety Officer – Infrastructure

We are seeking a highly responsible and experienced Safety Officer to join our safety team and support our ongoing infrastructure projects.

Job Purpose

The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing workplace safety standards, monitoring site compliance, conducting inspections, and supporting all teams to maintain a safe and accident-free work environment. The role requires strong knowledge of UAE regulations, RTA standards, and proven experience within infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to RTA safety guidelines, project HSE plans, and UAE legal safety requirements.
• Conduct routine site inspections to identify hazardous conditions and enforce corrective measures.
• Monitor high-risk activities such as excavation, heavy equipment operations, traffic management, and confined space work.
• Conduct and update risk assessments (RA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for critical tasks.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare detailed reports with preventive recommendations.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, logs, and documentation in compliance with company procedures.
• Deliver daily toolbox talks and coordinate HSE awareness sessions for workers and new employees.
• Educate the workforce on emergency procedures, PPE compliance, safe work practices, and hazard reporting systems.
• Work closely with site engineers, supervisors, and project managers to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist in the preparation of weekly/monthly safety reports for client and management review.
• Support the development and implementation of project-specific safety plans and emergency response protocols.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
• NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification (mandatory or highly preferred).
• 4–6 years of experience as a Safety Officer in UAE infrastructure projects.
• RTA project experience is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of UAE HSE regulations, safety methodologies, and project safety documentation.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of UAE safety codes, RTA/HSE requirements, and construction safety practices.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and prepare safety reports.
• Familiarity with PTW (Permit to Work) systems and emergency response procedures.
