Resident Project Manager – Urban Planning

K&A is hiring a Resident Project Manager – Urban Planning to lead a major master planning project in Qatar. This role is ideal for a senior professional with deep experience in urban development, master planning, and the leadership of multidisciplinary project teams.

Position Overview

The Resident Project Manager will oversee all phases of a strategic master planning project in Qatar. The role requires a strong command of urban planning processes, team coordination, client interaction, and technical project leadership. This is a senior, high impact role with responsibility for guiding design, planning, technical reviews, stakeholder management, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

• Lead the overall delivery of a major urban or master planning project.
• Oversee planning, design coordination, documentation, and approvals.
• Ensure project objectives, timeframes, and quality standards are met.

Team Management

• Manage multidisciplinary teams that may include planners, architects, engineers, economists, and sustainability specialists.
• Assign tasks, review outputs, and support team development.
• Build a collaborative work environment focused on performance and quality.

Technical Oversight

• Review planning studies, design proposals, master plan concepts, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with national planning regulations, local authority requirements, and project specifications.
• Guide the development of land use plans, infrastructure frameworks, mobility strategies, and environmental considerations.

Client and Stakeholder Coordination

• Serve as the primary point of contact with the client.
• Prepare progress reports, presentations, and documentation for project meetings.
• Coordinate with government entities, institutional stakeholders, and external consultants.

Project Delivery

• Monitor project progress at every stage.
• Manage risk, resolve issues, and support informed decision making.
• Ensure final deliverables meet the agreed scope, standards, and long term development goals.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications or chartership in planning or urban design are preferred.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 20 years of professional experience in urban planning or master planning.
• Successful completion of 1 to 2 large, complex urban or master planning projects, ideally for universities or major institutional clients.
• Proven experience leading diverse, multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong track record of delivering projects from concept to completion.

Technical Skills

• Strong command of master planning methodologies and planning regulations.
• Ability to guide the development of land use plans, mobility frameworks, infrastructure layouts, and urban design guidelines.
• Familiarity with planning and design software such as GIS, CAD, and modeling tools.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to review technical drawings, planning studies, and design documents with accuracy.
