Unitek General Contracting LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Quantity Surveyor – Civil (QS-Civil) to support the commercial, contractual, and cost management aspects of civil construction projects. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical abilities, excellent technical knowledge, and proven UAE-based project experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), detailed cost estimates, tender documents, and pricing reports.
- Conduct quantity take-offs, material assessments, and cost evaluations based on drawings and specifications.
- Review project blueprints, technical specifications, and contract documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage pre-contract and post-contract activities including variations, claims, re-measurements, and final accounts.
- Collaborate with project engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and procurement teams for pricing, negotiations, and material evaluations.
- Conduct regular site visits to verify progress, validate measurements, and ensure alignment between site works and cost records.
- Monitor project budgets, enforce cost controls, and prepare commercial reports for management.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations, prepare comparisons, and support award recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions, project standards, and UAE construction regulations.
- Prepare monthly progress valuations, payment applications, and cost forecasts.
Requirements
- Minimum 6+ years of UAE experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of estimation, tendering, post-contract management, and commercial controls.
- Must hold a Valid UAE Driving License.
- Proficiency in QS tools and software such as CostX, MS Excel, AutoCAD, and related analytical software.
- Deep understanding of UAE market rates, construction standards, and contractual procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a closely related field.
- Certification in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management (RICS or equivalent) is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 6–10 years of professional experience, with at least 6 years in the UAE.
- Proven experience working on civil, infrastructure, and building construction projects in the region.
- Experience managing tenders, contractual correspondence, and commercial documentation.
Technical Skills
- Strong command of CostX, AutoCAD, MS Excel, and other QS tools.
- Expertise in measurement techniques, take-off procedures, and cost breakdown analysis.
- Solid understanding of UAE construction materials, market pricing, and contract conditions (FIDIC preferred).
