QA/QC Civil Engineer

Al Ahd General Contracting & Maintenance Co. (AGCM) is looking for a qualified and experienced QA/QC Civil Engineer. The ideal candidate will ensure that all construction activities meet project specifications, standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The applicant must be physically present in the UAE.

Job Purpose

The QA/QC Civil Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining the project’s quality management system. The role ensures the quality of materials, workmanship, and construction processes by conducting inspections, reviewing documentation, coordinating with project teams, and supporting continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures in alignment with project standards and regulations.
• Conduct inspections for civil works, materials, installations, and site activities.
• Review and verify material submittals, method statements, ITPs, and shop drawings.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and quality standards (including ISO 9001).
• Monitor construction progress and highlight any deviations in quality.
• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documents such as: Inspection Requests (IRs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports
• Maintain updated quality records for project closeout.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve quality issues.
• Support audits by ensuring that corrective actions are implemented and documented.
• Participate in project meetings related to quality, inspections, and compliance.
• Communicate inspection results and provide recommendations to improve quality.
• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, local authority regulations, and safety guidelines.
• Assist the project team in identifying quality risks and recommending preventive measures.
• Evaluate materials delivered to site and ensure they meet the required standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of construction processes, building materials, and QA/QC procedures.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and other project-specific quality standards.
• Familiarity with local authority regulations and compliance requirements in the UAE.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a QA/QC Engineering role.
• Preferred experience in UAE construction projects (residential, commercial, or mixed-use).
• Hands-on background in site inspections, quality documentation, and coordination.
• Experience working with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors on live projects.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Skilled in preparing QA/QC documentation, checklists, and reports.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Time management and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
