Position Overview

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules, ensuring all phases of work are aligned with contractual timelines and cost targets. The role requires strong analytical and coordination skills, as well as experience dealing with UAE authorities and regulatory bodies.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.Tech) in Civil Engineering from an accredited university (mandatory).
  • Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in Project Planning or Construction Management are an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Establish project milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation plans.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and consultants to gather progress data.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or risks early.
  • Prepare and issue regular project reports including timelines, performance metrics, and progress updates.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE local authority requirements, including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, RTA, and other relevant entities.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, bottlenecks, and strategies for maintaining schedule integrity.
  • Analyze and forecast schedule deviations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of project timelines, revisions, and documentation for internal and client reporting.

Skills & Competencies Required

  • Strong command of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Thorough understanding of construction planning and project lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with UAE rules, regulations, and authority approval procedures.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills (written and verbal).
  • Analytical thinking with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Team-oriented attitude with the capability to coordinate across disciplines.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant professional experience in the UAE.
  • Proven track record in planning and scheduling within engineering consultancies or construction firms.
  • Hands-on experience with UAE-based infrastructure or building projects.
  • Familiarity with local authority submission processes and compliance requirements.
  • UAE experience of at least 5 years is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: AED 15,000 – 25,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
