Payroll Specialist

Full Time

Al Masaood Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join the HR team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will handle payroll processing, compliance, reporting, audits, and employee support while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.

Key Responsibilities

1. Payroll Processing

  • Prepare and process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll for all employees.
  • Review and validate timesheets, attendance records, HR updates, and payroll modifications (new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers).
  • Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, allowances, overtime, bonuses, deductions, commissions, and other payroll elements.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

2. Compliance & Recordkeeping

  • Ensure full compliance with UAE Labor Law, company policies, tax regulations, and payroll-related legislation.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support year-end processes such as tax filings, audit requirements, and statutory documentation.

3. Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate payroll and HR-related reports for management, HR, and finance teams.
  • Track payroll liabilities, benefit deductions, and accruals.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely documentation.

4. Employee Support

  • Address employee queries regarding salary, tax deductions, leave balances, and payroll discrepancies.
  • Provide clear guidance on payroll policies, procedures, and company regulations.

5. Systems & Process Improvement

  • Maintain and update payroll systems, ensuring accuracy of data at all times.
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, and implementation of payroll enhancements.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency, compliance, and data accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in medium to large organizations.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, SAP, Paychex, Ceridian, or similar platforms.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, compliance standards, UAE labor legislation, and tax regulations.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and reliability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, payroll reporting tools, data entry, and reconciliation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
