MEP Manager

Overview

Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. (Ssangyong E&C) is looking for an experienced MEP Manager to oversee all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works for our high-rise building project in Dubai.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the design coordination, installation, testing, commissioning, and quality control of all MEP systems to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Coordination

• Develop the overall MEP construction strategy, schedules, and resource plans.
• Coordinate closely with civil, architectural, and structural teams to ensure proper integration of MEP systems within the building design.
• Attend coordination meetings with consultants, clients, and subcontractors.

2. Execution & Supervision

• Supervise and monitor all MEP site activities including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, ELV, and BMS systems.
• Ensure that all works comply with approved shop drawings, specifications, and authority requirements (Dubai Municipality, DEWA, DCD, Etisalat, etc.).
• Review method statements, material submittals, and technical reports prior to submission to the consultant.
• Coordinate and resolve on-site technical issues related to MEP installations.

3. Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Implement and monitor quality control procedures for all MEP works.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and practices on site.
• Verify and witness MEP inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure proper documentation and handover of as-built drawings and O&M manuals.

4. Procurement & Cost Control

• Review MEP BOQs and specifications for tendering and procurement.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for compliance and value engineering.
• Monitor material deliveries and usage to avoid project delays or cost overruns.

5. Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and manage MEP engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Provide technical guidance and support to ensure timely project execution.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, planning, and procurement teams for smooth workflow.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in MEP construction, with at least 5 years in a managerial role on high-rise building projects in Dubai or GCC.
• Strong knowledge of MEP design standards, Dubai authority regulations, and international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, IEC).
• Experience in testing, commissioning, and handover of high-rise building systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and client interface abilities.

• MEP construction schedule and progress reports
• Coordination and clash detection reports
• Approved material and technical submittals
• Testing and commissioning plans and records
• Final handover documentation (as-built drawings, O&M manuals)

Important Note:

• Applications will not be considered if you do not meet the following criteria:
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in the UAE
• Proven experience in high-rise building projects
• Currently based in the UAE
