We are now seeking an experienced MEP Coordinator to join our prestigious high-rise building project in Sharjah.
Position Overview
The MEP Coordinator will oversee all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing activities for a high-rise building project, ensuring proper coordination among teams, adherence to design specifications, and timely installation of MEP systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all MEP activities in line with project specifications, approved drawings, engineering standards, and authority requirements.
- Ensure effective communication and seamless workflow between MEP subcontractors, civil teams, consultants, and the project management team.
- Review MEP drawings, shop drawings, IFC drawings, and coordination drawings for accuracy and compliance.
- Participate in site coordination meetings to resolve technical issues and interface challenges.
- Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting, and other MEP services.
- Ensure all MEP works align with quality standards, project timelines, and health and safety regulations.
- Prepare detailed progress reports, material tracking logs, technical reports, and documentation for project management.
- Assist planning and scheduling teams with inputs related to MEP work progress and milestones.
- Ensure adherence to local authority regulations (SEWA, Civil Defense, Municipality).
- Monitor compliance with project method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and QA/QC requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify proper installation and workmanship.
- Coordinate technical submissions and respond to consultant comments.
- Support stakeholder communication to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
- Provide technical advice and leadership for MEP activities throughout the project life cycle.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 8–10 years of proven UAE experience specifically in high-rise building projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP engineering, construction codes, and local authority regulations.
- Excellent understanding of electrical, mechanical, fire-fighting, HVAC, plumbing, and drainage systems.
- Strong background in reviewing IFC drawings, MEP shop drawings, and coordination drawings.
- Experience in managing subcontractors and multitasking on fast-paced construction projects.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project coordination software.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Must be currently based in the UAE.
- Immediate joiners highly preferred.
