Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

Denholm Yam Contracting Company LLC is currently looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Quantity Surveyor with strong expertise in piping works, mechanical systems, and electrical quantity surveying. This role requires excellent analytical, commercial, and coordination skills to support project teams and ensure accurate cost management.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-off for mechanical and electrical works (piping, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical systems, etc.)
• Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities), cost estimates, and pricing sheets as per project specifications.
• Review technical drawings, IFC drawings, and shop drawings to ensure accurate quantity calculations.
• Support tender submissions by preparing material quantities, rate analyses, and cost breakdowns.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare comparison sheets.
• Assist in contract administration, cost control, and variation order preparation.
• Conduct site measurements and coordinate regularly with site engineers and project teams.
• Support project managers in monitoring budgets, forecasting costs, and preparing progress claims.
• Maintain organized records of all QS documentation and project correspondence.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3-7 years of UAE/GCC experience in Quantity Surveying within mechanical and MEP projects.
• Proficient in piping works, mechanical systems, and basic electrical QS tasks.
• Strong knowledge of take-off procedures, BOQ preparation, and cost estimation.
• Familiar with standard construction methodologies, MEP drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to analyze tenders, evaluate suppliers/subcontractors, and prepare cost summaries.
• Good understanding of contractual terms, variation claims, and cost control practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with site, engineering, and procurement teams.
