Al Geemi Contracting Co. L.L.C, is currently seeking a qualified Material Engineer with strong experience in road and infrastructure projects within the UAE. Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Material Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Additional certifications in Quality Control, Quality Management, or Materials Testing are an advantage.
Professional Experience
- 7–10 years of proven experience in the UAE working on major road and infrastructure projects.
- Extensive exposure to pavement materials, soil tests, asphalt mix design, aggregate specifications, and construction materials compliance.
- Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, and laboratories.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of UAE material standards, Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology (ESMA), DOT, ADM, and ASTM standards.
- Proficient in reviewing material specifications, submittals, test reports, and compliance documentation.
- Ability to evaluate material suitability, quality assurance processes, and project-related testing.
- Familiarity with road construction materials, sub-base, base-course, asphalt layers, concrete mix designs, and infrastructure utilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD familiarity is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve material submittals, specifications, and test results for road and infrastructure works.
- Ensure all project materials comply with UAE standards, project specifications, and international codes.
- Coordinate with laboratories for testing of aggregates, asphalt, concrete, soil, and backfilling materials.
- Conduct site inspections to verify proper handling, storage, and usage of construction materials.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation related to materials testing, approvals, and compliance.
- Monitor material performance and recommend improvements when required.
- Support QA/QC teams in maintaining quality standards and resolving technical issues related to materials.
- Liaise with consultants, clients, and internal teams for material approvals and project progress.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and technical meetings.
- Ensure that all materials used meet sustainability and environmental requirements.
