HSE Officer

We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Officer to join our team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in implementing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and ensuring workforce compliance with HSE regulations. This role is essential in building a culture of safety, preventing accidents, and ensuring that all site activities follow UAE and project-specific HSE requirements.

Position Overview

The HSE Officer will be responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of HSE policies and procedures on project sites. The role requires daily interaction with construction teams, subcontractors, and management to ensure that all safety expectations are met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the full implementation of HSE operational controls across construction and marine work sites.
  • Conduct daily HSE inspections and walk-throughs to monitor safety compliance and identify hazards.
  • Ensure workers understand emergency procedures, safety protocols, and project-specific regulations.
  • Conduct HSE induction sessions for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Organize daily toolbox talks to promote continuous awareness of site safety practices.
  • Provide guidance on safe work practices and participate in behavior-based safety programs.
  • Participate in risk assessments for construction and marine activities to ensure hazards are identified and mitigated.
  • Review and update risk assessments after incidents or near misses.
  • Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare and submit detailed HSE performance reports, inspection findings, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure proper documentation of safety observations, safety statistics, and compliance audits.
  • Ensure environmental monitoring and compliance with UAE environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor waste management, ensuring proper segregation and disposal in line with project requirements.
  • Respond immediately to emergencies, incidents, and unsafe acts/conditions on-site.
  • Assist in root-cause analysis and documentation of accidents, near misses, and safety concerns.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, HSE, or any related technical field.
  • NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory.
  • 4–5 years of UAE experience in the construction or marine contracting sector.
  • Trakhees, SSRS, or SARS certification will be an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of UAE HSE regulations, environmental requirements, and site safety protocols.
