HSE Officer

ARCO Electromechanical L.L.C is hiring HSE Officer. He will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations across company operations and MEP projects. This role involves monitoring workplace activities, conducting safety audits, implementing safety management systems, and promoting a strong safety culture among all employees and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with UAE laws and international standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and safety audits for all project locations.
• Ensure that all safety equipment and tools are inspected, maintained, and used correctly.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports with corrective and preventive action plans.
• Conduct regular HSE training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees and site workers.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and other relevant safety standards.
• Coordinate with project managers and site engineers to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure documentation and reporting related to HSE activities are accurate, up-to-date, and submitted on time.
• Liaise with local authorities and external auditors for safety inspections and certifications.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all project teams.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an HSE role within the Electromechanical or MEP industry (mandatory).
• Proven knowledge of UAE HSE laws, codes, and standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to conduct training sessions and safety meetings effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.

Required Certifications

• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent recognized HSE certification (mandatory).
• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification (mandatory).
• Additional certifications in Fire Safety, First Aid, or Environmental Management will be an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

• Deep understanding of safety management systems (SMS) and risk management.
• Ability to identify unsafe practices and implement corrective measures promptly.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to influence and engage teams.
• Excellent report writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
