HSE Engineer

Position Overview

Al Sahraa Recruitment Services (ASRS) is looking for an experienced and qualified HSE Engineer to join our client’s offshore operations in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all site activities comply with company and ADNOC HSE standards, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment across all operational areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all site operations fully comply with the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments, manage work permits, and monitor safe work practices on-site.
• Deliver HSE inductions, awareness sessions, and job-specific training for employees and contractors.
• Lead incident and accident investigations, ensuring timely reporting and root cause analysis.
• Develop, implement, and maintain inspection and emergency drill schedules for offshore sites.
• Coordinate closely with company HSE engineers to review updates, audit findings, and compliance gaps.
• Promote HSE culture through safety campaigns, toolbox talks, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure contractor HSE compliance in line with ADNOC and UAE regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, permits, and incident reports for management review.
• Support emergency response planning, drills, and readiness activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 8 years of HSE experience within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry (offshore experience preferred).
• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
• Strong report writing and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HSE reporting tools.
• Capable of working in rotational shifts (day and night operations).
• Must hold a valid UAE Light Duty Driving License and Defensive Driving Course certification.

Required Certifications

• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) and/or HSE Diploma (mandatory).
• Hazardous Material Handling & Storage by Sea Awareness certification.
• Additional certifications in Fire Safety, First Aid, or ISO 45001 standards will be an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

• In-depth understanding of HSE management systems (HSEMS) and risk control processes.
• Strong ability to lead incident investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Skilled in permit-to-work (PTW) systems and offshore safety procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for identifying potential hazards.
• Leadership and interpersonal skills to drive HSE performance across diverse teams.
• Ability to work under pressure in challenging offshore environments while maintaining focus on safety excellence.

Compensation and Benefits

• Monthly Salary: AED 17,000 (all-inclusive).
• Rotation: 45 days on / 21 days off.
