Electrical Draftsman (MEP Division)

Position Overview

Fibrex Construction Group is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Electrical Draftsman to join our MEP Division in the UAE. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and high-quality electrical drawings, layouts, and technical documentation for building services projects.

You will collaborate with engineers and site teams to ensure all designs comply with project specifications, standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical shop drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD or Revit for MEP projects.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design data accurately.
• Coordinate with MEP engineers and other disciplines (mechanical, civil, architectural) to ensure drawing accuracy and design integration.
• Maintain and update all as-built drawings and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review design drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company standards.
• Support the project team with material take-offs, cable schedules, and single line diagrams.
• Ensure compliance with UAE electrical codes, DEWA/ADDC regulations, and international standards.
• Participate in site visits to verify installations and update drawings as required.
• Maintain drawing registers, version control, and document tracking.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and QA/QC teams to deliver on time and within quality expectations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Drafting/Design Technology.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as an Electrical Draftsman in MEP or construction industries within the UAE.
• Proven track record of working on large-scale building, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Currently residing and working in the UAE (mandatory).
• MOHRE/MOFA-attested educational certificates required.
• Immediate or short-notice joiners preferred.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other drafting tools.
• Strong understanding of MEP coordination, electrical load distribution, and cable routing.
• Familiarity with DEWA/ADDC standards, UAE construction codes, and international electrical standards (IEC/BS/NEC).
• Ability to interpret design drawings, BOQs, and technical documentation.
• Good knowledge of shop drawing production and as-built documentation.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational ability.
