Mechanical Fabrication Engineer

Fabtech International (FABTECH Group), is currently hiring Mechanical Fabrication Engineer (Production).

• Location: Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai

• Experience Required: 5+ years

Role Overview

The Mechanical Fabrication Engineer will be responsible for managing fabrication activities, ensuring quality compliance, and optimizing production workflows across shopfloor and outsourced operations.

This role requires expertise in:

• Pipe fabrication
• Modular skid systems
• Structural fabrication
• Welding standards and QA/QC

Roles & Responsibilities

🔧 1. Fabrication Management

• Oversee fabrication of:
  • Pipe spools
  • Modular skids
  • Structural frames
• Plan workloads based on project priorities
• Ensure availability of:
  • Materials
  • Tools
  • Manpower

📐 2. Technical Oversight

• Interpret:
  • P&IDs
  • Isometric drawings
  • Structural drawings
• Ensure compliance with:
  • WPS/PQR procedures
  • Fit-up and welding tolerances

🧾 3. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to international standards such as:
  • ASME
  • AWS
  • AISC
• Support QA/QC in:
  • NDT inspections
  • Hydrotesting
  • Final quality checks
• Maintain documentation and traceability

👷 4. Team Leadership

• Supervise:
  • Welders
  • Fitters
  • Fabrication teams
• Provide training and performance feedback
• Enforce safety practices

📊 5. Project Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with:
  • Design teams
  • QA/QC
  • Planning departments
• Monitor KPIs and production targets
• Identify risks and resolve bottlenecks

Key Requirements

🎓 Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Or equivalent

🏗️ Experience

• Minimum 5+ years in fabrication/production
• Experience in:
  • Oil & Gas or industrial sector
• At least 2+ years in supervisory role

⚙️ Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
  • Welding codes and standards
  • Fabrication processes
  • Engineering drawings
• Experience with:
  • ERP systems
  • Material management
  • Production tracking
