Job Summary

The Cost Control Engineer / Senior Cost Control Engineer will be responsible for monitoring project costs, preparing budgets and forecasts, analyzing financial performance, and supporting project teams to ensure projects are delivered within approved cost parameters. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and monitor project budgets, cost plans, and cost breakdown structures.
  • Track project expenditures and compare them against approved budgets.
  • Identify cost variances and propose corrective actions.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial summaries.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis and trend evaluation for ongoing projects.
  • Support management with accurate financial data for decision-making.
  • Prepare cost forecasts and estimates for completion (EAC).
  • Monitor commitments, variations, and change orders to ensure financial control.
  • Assist in high-level project financial control (Senior role).
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and planning teams.
  • Support commercial and contractual teams with cost-related inputs.
  • Ensure cost records are properly documented and maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, project procedures, and financial controls.
  • Work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality of reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Additional certifications in cost management or project controls are an advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • Cost Control Engineer: Minimum 3–4 years of experience in cost control within construction or engineering projects.
  • Senior Cost Control Engineer: Minimum 7–10 years of experience in cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and project financial control.

Skills & Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of cost control systems, budgeting, and project financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Experience with cost analysis, forecasting, and variance reporting.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, BOQs, and project specifications.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
