Otak International is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer (DE) to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and delivering complex structural design solutions across high-rise buildings, multi-storey towers, and bridge structures.
This role requires strong leadership, advanced technical expertise, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination while ensuring compliance with international and local engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Engineering
- Lead the structural design of high-rise buildings, multi-storey towers, and bridge structures.
- Develop safe, efficient, and cost-effective structural systems in line with project objectives.
- Prepare and review detailed structural calculations, analysis models, and design reports.
- Validate and approve structural drawings including general arrangement, reinforcement, and connection details.
Standards & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, local building codes, and Abu Dhabi authority requirements.
- Interpret international and regional codes to ensure best practices in safety, durability, and constructability.
- Perform design checks and peer reviews to maintain quality and accuracy.
Software & Technical Tools
- Use and supervise advanced structural analysis and design software such as: ETABS, SAFE, STAAD / STAAD Pro, SAP2000 or equivalent tools
- Review and validate structural modeling outputs and design assumptions.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate closely with architectural, MEP, geotechnical, and construction teams.
- Participate in technical meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Provide technical clarifications and support during construction stages.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and guide junior engineers and drafting teams.
- Distribute workloads, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of design outputs.
- Monitor and control design schedules and project milestones.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (mandatory).
- Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering is an advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 20+ years of professional experience in structural engineering.
- Proven experience in High-rise and multi-storey building projects & Bridge and infrastructure structures
- Experience working on large-scale international or Middle East projects is highly preferred.
