Resident Engineer

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Resident Engineer to oversee and manage building projects in Ras Al Khaimah. The ideal candidate will bring extensive consultancy experience, excellent leadership abilities, and strong technical knowledge to ensure successful project delivery.

Position Overview

The Resident Engineer will act as the primary site representative of the consultancy, ensuring that all construction activities comply with approved designs, specifications, contractual documents, and project timelines. This role requires strong decision-making skills, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.

Responsibilities 

• Manage day-to-day site activities and ensure the project progresses according to approved plans.
• Supervise construction works to meet technical specifications, safety standards, and contractual requirements.
• Monitor project milestones, progress reports, and timelines, ensuring compliance with approved schedules.
• Review design drawings, technical submissions, shop drawings, and material approvals.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure the quality of workmanship meets project standards.
• Identify technical issues and propose solutions to maintain project continuity.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Conduct technical and coordination meetings, ensuring issues are documented and resolved promptly.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management.
• Ensure strict adherence to FIDIC rules, project specifications, and contractual documents.
• Verify contractor compliance with approved work methods and safety requirements.
• Review claims, variations, and change requests as needed.

Requirements 

• 15+ years of UAE experience in building construction projects.
• 8+ years in an Engineering Consultancy in a similar Resident Engineer role.
• Proven background in delivering large-scale commercial, residential, or mixed-use buildings.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CEng) are an advantage.
• Strong understanding of FIDIC conditions, construction laws, codes, and standards.
• Experience with full project life cycle: planning → execution → handover.
• Proficiency in Primavera (P6) is an added advantage.
• Strong capability in reviewing drawings, materials, and method statements.
