Capital Engineering Consultancy is looking for a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in Fujairah. The ideal candidate must have strong technical and commercial expertise, exceptional knowledge of contractual procedures, and proven experience working with reputable engineering consultancies in the UAE.
Position Overview
Senior Quantity Surveyor will manage all cost-related aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate measurements, timely evaluations, and adherence to contractual obligations. This role requires a strong understanding of FIDIC, claims management, variations, commercial documentation, and cost control.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 13+ years of total experience in Quantity Surveying.
- At least 8+ years of experience with a recognized Engineering Consultancy (mandatory UAE experience).
- Strong exposure to large-scale building and infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on expertise in: FIDIC contracts,Claims preparation & evaluation, Variations & Change Orders, Insurance & Guarantees, EOT (Extension of Time), Contract Administration & Commercial Management
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- Excellent knowledge of UAE construction industry standards and cost norms.
Responsibilities
- Manage all Quantity Surveying operations, including BOQs, cost estimates, and cost control.
- Review and verify contractor payments, interim valuations, variations, and claims.
- Evaluate and assist in EOT assessments, commercial reviews, and contractual compliance.
- Ensure alignment with FIDIC conditions of contract, project specifications, and contractual documents.
- Support tendering activities, cost proposals, insurance requirements, and project guarantees.
- Prepare commercial reports, cashflow forecasts, and cost summaries.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients for all QS-related matters.
- Maintain accurate commercial documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in QS software, cost estimation tools, and MS Office.
- Strong understanding of UAE contract laws, regulatory codes, and procurement practices.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and project priorities.
- Professional judgement in evaluating claims, variations, and contractual risks.
