QS Engineer (Civil)

Unitek General Contracting LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor (Civil) to join our growing team. Candidates must have 7-10 years of proven UAE experience in building construction, fit-out works, renovations, or facilities management (FM) services. Experience in MEP quantity surveying will be considered an added advantage.

This role is ideal for professionals who possess strong commercial acumen, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage pre- and post-contract activities efficiently across diverse civil engineering projects.

Position Overview

The QS Engineer (Civil) will be responsible for managing all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, from initial estimation to final accounts. The role requires strong attention to detail, thorough understanding of construction measurement, and superior negotiation and communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), material take-offs, and tender submissions.
• Participate in pre-contract activities, including negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Review and interpret contract documents, ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements.
• Monitor and control project costs during execution, including variations, claims, remeasurements, and cost updates.
• Conduct cost analysis, value engineering, and risk assessments to optimize project budgets and resources.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure accurate cost forecasting and budget adherence.
• Prepare and maintain cost reports, financial projections, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in dispute resolution, claims preparation, and negotiation of final accounts when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of UAE experience in construction, fit-out, renovation, or FM projects.
• Strong understanding of both pre-contract and post-contract procedures.
• Proficiency in cost estimation, tendering, contract administration, and commercial management.
• Familiarity with UAE construction laws, regulations, and standard forms of contract (FIDIC preferred).
• Experience working with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors in the UAE market.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in QS or Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Demonstrated experience in large-scale civil projects within the UAE.
• Experience in MEP QS is a plus.
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

• Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, AutoCAD, QS software, and cost-control tools.
