Role Overview:
Al Marwan Group is seeking a detail-oriented Asphalt Estimator to join our Asphalt Division. The ideal candidate will prepare accurate cost estimates for asphalt paving and road construction projects, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed asphalt quantity take-offs and accurate cost estimates for road construction and paving projects.
- Analyze project drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and technical specifications.
- Estimate costs related to production, labor, equipment, transport, and materials.
- Coordinate with procurement, finance, operations, and project management teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
- Maintain and update cost databases and track outcomes of submitted bids.
- Support tendering activities by providing accurate technical and financial inputs.
- Review and suggest improvements to estimation processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor market trends for asphalt materials and equipment costs to inform future estimations.
Qualifications & Education:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification in quantity surveying, cost estimation, or construction management is an advantage.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in asphalt estimation, road construction, or civil engineering projects.
- Proven track record of preparing cost estimates and participating in tender submissions.
- Hands-on experience with asphalt production, plant operations, and road paving techniques.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and cost estimation software/tools.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOQs, and project specifications.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of industry best practices in asphalt production, paving, and quality standards.
